Commission: Starcraft 2 Infestor by retinence Commission: Starcraft 2 Infestor by retinence
-I don't have instructions for this, please don't ask.-
-I buy pieces from Bricklink.com-

This is an Infestor from the game Starcraft 2. It was commissioned by Nannan: [link]

I made it in 2 colors because I prefer brown while Nannan preferred black. From the pictures, I think I like the black more now.

While building this I realized that building with Bionicle is getting harder and harder as the supply of Bionicle online has decreased significantly. My old style of building will soon die out. The newer style isn't nearly as fun.

Nooo! You have plenty of bionicle, so buying more should be less and less of a problem. Do what you love, not what other want!

Keep the old style, you're the best (at least the most realistic) bionicle builder out there, and I don't think anyone could bear to lose that!

I love the way you used system lego in this one. It seems like skeleton with technic/bionicle/HF and armor with system? (at least completely on the brown one)
It inspires me to try and use system as pure element of armor as well :)

That's correct. Technic provides a stronger, more versatile skeleton. I think it's easier to shape armor with System than anything else.

That is right, system makes the shaping easier, but I also like the texture of bionicle parts which is the reason I use them most of the times, but I now feel the urge to try system for pure meaning of armoring now. System gives one cleaner surfaces, you just have to cover as much studs as possible xD (in case you don't wanna use them for texture means)

Any idea why the bionicle pieces are disappearing? It's been a while since I've purchased legos, but every time I've been in the aisle, it's always seemed that bionicles have dominated traditional bricks. Is this just online then? Or is it just the variety of lego bricks is diminishing?

Hero Factory took over. Bionicle was cancelled a few years ago. So those pieces are finally running out.

That's positively vile. The pieces are so ugly and exclusive. There's no real way to interpret the pieces in any other way than how they're presented. So stiff and... lacking is mobility. I'm sorry for your loss. :/
