Actually if you look at my "dos amigos" picture with the grunt and the elite, you should be able to see how it connects. link here: [link]

The 3 stud long star rod on the upper left corner of the 1st picture connects to a horizontal ball joint on the back of the head. Also another ball joint located on the bottom left of the first picture connects to a part that is right under the horizontal ball joint. Sorry but i cant take more pictures of that location because this model was disassembled.
